Position:               Chemical Powder Production Operator

Location:              Monroe, CT

Shift:                       Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5 PM

Job description:

Chemical Powder Production Operator primary responsibilities are making powder batches, operating the pelletizer, and re-packing products into boxes.  Other responsibilities include performing routine equipment maintenance, making and applying appropriate labels, and supporting the Shipping & Receiving operations.  The work environment is fast-paced and challenging.  Become part of our plant team to ship out orders to customers on-time by receiving raw materials, making products, repackaging containers, boxing, labeling, wrapping, and shipping.

Job activities include:

  • Making batches of powder chemicals following strict operating instructions
  • Operating Pelletizer machine
  • Safely handling chemicals by wearing dust respirator and Tyvex suit
  • Mixing, sampling, filling, and re-packing products into different container sizes
  • Completing required forms and paperwork
  • Making boxes to ship
  • Making and applying labels and packing
  • Driving forklifts
  • Shipping of products and samples
  • Receiving of purchased raw materials and goods
  • Maintaining good housekeeping
  • Performing routine maintenance
  • Strictly following all safety (PPE), Hazmat, and standard operating procedures

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous forklift experience and/or certification is required
  • Chemical/Powder production experience (preferred) or willing to work in environment & learn
  • General knowledge of manufacturing, chemicals, and warehousing
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and move drums
  • Able to stand for 1 hour during production operation
  • Hazmat awareness and training
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills to function in a team environment
  • Display a willingness, aptitude, and self-discipline to learn and work
  • Reliable
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
